COROICO ‘THE WORLDS MOST DANGEROUS ROAD’ 1 DAY
If you are looking for adventure and an adrenaline rush like no other then you need look no further than the ‘Worlds Most Dangerous Road’ mountain bike run.
Starting at La Cumbre more than 4000M the run descends for 70KM to 1000M.
The tour will take you past, Altiplano, Mountains, and steamy jungle. You will have Eagle Buzzards wheeling above your head as you fly down a road not much wider than a large truck, crashing through streams, and Waterfalls the edge of the road at times can have a sheer 3000ft drop to the Jungle floor. Don’t let this worry you though the tours are expertly organised and you can ride at your own pace with the support vehicle and a guide behind the last rider at all times. Equally the more experienced riders will have a guide leading them at the front. The decent lasts 4-5 hours. Go for it!
DISCRIPTION OF TOUR
Pick up from hotel in La Paz.
Riders are then taken to the top of Villa El Carmen ‘La Cumbre’ a 45min Drive.
The tour begins here and continues on the main road to Coroico.
The duration of the decent will depend on how fast the slowest riders are. This is due to there being stop off sections of the trip for refreshment, recovery and regrouping.
The first section of the decent is Asphalted road for approx 15KM it then turns into rough single track road. At this point you will be riding on officially…

The ride finishes in Yoloza where you will be picked up and taken to Hotel Don Quixote in Coroico. You will spend two hours at the hotel giving you the opportunity to take a shower, have a dip in the pool, and eat a buffet Lunch.
Return to La Paz with a big grin and a real sense of achievement – and of course the T-Shirt to prove it!
