LAKE TITICACA
Titicaca has got to be one of the most beautiful lakes in the world. It is located on the border of Bolivia and Peru, 3812M, high in the Altiplano; making it the highest ‘Navigable lake’ in the world. It is also (by volume) the largest lake in the world. It is a staggering 190km long and 80km wide. No less than twenty seven rivers drain into Lake Titicaca and it also contains over forty islands, some densely populated. On this tour you will visit the biggest, Isla Del Sol (Sun Island)
LAKE TITICACA - ISLA DEL SOL – 2 DAYS
DAY 1 COPACABANA
Departure for Copacabana (3 hours approx). Hotel accommodation. Lunch. City tour visiting the church and the Calvary from where we'll have a panoramic view of Lake Titicaca. Dinner.
DAY 2 SUN ISLAND
After the breakfast you head out by boat to Sun Island. You will visit the south part of the Island, where you will get to see Pilkocaina's palace, Yumani's perrons, and the agricultural terraces. Lunch in will be in Copacabana. Return to La Paz in the afternoon.

TIWANAKU AND THE SURIKI ISLAND - 1 DAY
Pre inka ruins located 72 Km from La Paz . (1 hour 30 minutes). On the way you will stop off and visit Laja town. This is the site where La Paz city was originally founded. You will then visit the ancient and mysterious pre-inca ruins of Tiwanaku and the on site museum.
The trip will then continue to Huatajata, where you will get to enjoy a typical lunch fresh trout fresh from Titicaca lake. After lunch in the afternoon you will take a boat to Suriki Island. This is where the craftsmen of totora rafts constructed the RA II in which Thor Heyerthal crossed the Atlantic Ocean on in 1971. During this tour you will also enjoy spectacular views of the Royal Mountain range. Return to La Paz.
